WASHINGTON — When Pope Benedict XVI takes a seat here, he’ll do so on a Thomas Moser Cabinetmakers product. The company has supplied chairs for the pontiff and for President Bush for a ceremony this morning at the White House. The chairs will be upholstered in a Robert Allen fabric, Pembroke in Oyster, selected by Joseph Hagin, Bush’s deputy chief of staff. To

morrow, when the Pope Benedict performs mass at the Nationals Stadium, he’ll be standing on a stage surrounded by 36 cardinals, and they will be seated in white and gold chairs from American Furniture Rentals. The Archdiocese of Washington and the Vatican worked with AFR’s Special Events Team to select the stage’s seating. AFR

purchased new chairs for the cardinals. AFR also is furnishing Nationals Stadium’s green room, where entertainers and speakers will congregate, in brown leather seating selected by the Vatican.
