Donation gives retired rental inventory a second purpose while supporting New Jersey communities through AFR’s new partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (August 26, 2026) — American Furniture Rentals (AFR) believes quality furniture can continue serving communities long after its rental life ends. Throughout July and August, AFR put that belief into action by donating 189 furnishings and household items, an estimated 6,765 pounds in total, to Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey as part of its new annual partnership.

The donations included a wide range of seating, office and workspace furniture, tables and storage pieces, household appliances, lighting, area rugs, artwork, and other functional furnishings.

Participating Boys & Girls Club organizations and locations included the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County; the Glassboro Club in Gloucester County; the Asbury Park and Red Bank Clubs in Monmouth County; the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton; the Pequannock and Wayne Clubs in Northwest New Jersey; and the Elizabeth, Plainfield, and Union Clubs in Union County.

Formalized in May 2026, AFR’s partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey is structured as an annual commitment. In New Jersey, the partnership supports a statewide alliance of 21 Club organizations. AFR donates furnishings retired from its rental inventory, covers delivery costs, and coordinates logistics directly with participating Clubs.

In addition to the donation partnership described above, AFR maintains separate commercial relationships with other independently operated Boys & Girls Club chapters. Such commercial relationships are distinct from, and not part of, the donation partnership.

“This partnership reflects a core conviction: responsible business and community investment reinforce each other,” said Jimish Kothari, Chief Asset Management Officer at American Furniture Rentals. “Furniture that has completed its rental life still holds real value. Channeling that value to youth-serving nonprofits is good for young people, good for communities, and good for the planet.”

“At Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey, we’re committed to creating safe, welcoming spaces where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. This partnership with American Furniture Rentals helps us strengthen those environments by providing quality furnishings that directly benefit Clubs and the children and teens they serve across the state. We’re grateful to AFR for recognizing that investing in our physical spaces is an investment in the communities we serve and the environments that help young people reach their full potential,” said Susan Haspel, State Director of Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey.

By extending the useful life of quality furniture and household items, AFR helps reduce waste while giving them a second purpose in the community. AFR tracks its furniture donation activity and related environmental impact annually as part of its sustainability reporting.

Additional donation days may be scheduled as demand evolves and inventory allows. For more information, visit rentfurniture.com/afrgivesback.
