Our AFR special events team was eager to make their return to Catersource + The Special Event in early May. This year the annual four-day conference and trade show was held at the beautiful Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.
It’s no secret that TSE faced unprecedented challenges this year, with attendance a bit more scaled down than past years as the world passed the pandemic’s two year mark and protocols continued to loosen and shift across the country.
Despite these difficulties, attendees and exhibitors alike were energized and inspired to reconnect and discuss the events industry in detail and (maybe best of all) in person! Many hugs and high-fives were shared as event industry insiders seized the opportunity to assess and even test the latest products and services – all while planning for another busy and productive sales year.
At the AFR booth, we featured an open seating environment highlighting some of our most recent upholstery additions along with a selection of popular pieces. We carefully designed our environment to reflect the versatility our of products while creating a stylish and modern eclectic look.
Our sales team consisted of Kathy Newby from the Bay Area, Rachel Panczenko from Los Angeles, Eileen Guapo from San Diego, and our national sales manager, Leigh Tidwell. Other corporate staff in attendance included Jerry Hellmann, CEO, Tricia Schmitt, CFO, and Jose Ramirez, director of marketing.
A few of our favorite showcasing events included Connect Live, Opening Night Party, The Event Experience, Closing Night Celebration, and the Closing General Session - A Conversation with Roy Choi. We also thought this year’s Search event was phenomenal. The Anaheim Convention Center was a stellar venue for this event with exquisite food including delicious chocolate-covered bacon and even a complete sushi spread created by Roth Oseary.
Catersource + The Special Event will return in 2023 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL from 03/27 - 03/30 and we can’t wait to see all our industry friends and partners there for another exciting and inspirational conference for the event industry.
